Remote. Pay: Discussed at interview.

About the role

You write the demand letter that opens settlement talks: the facts, the injuries, the treatment and the damages, drawn from the file and supported by it.

What you will do

  • Review the file: accident facts, liability, records, bills, lost wages
  • Summarize treatment in order, in clear language
  • Total the damages and check them against the bills
  • Draft the demand in the firm's format for attorney review
  • Assemble the exhibits
  • Revise quickly from the attorney's comments

What we ask for

  • Two or more years writing personal injury demands, or closely related legal writing
  • Excellent written English: clear, accurate and persuasive without exaggeration
  • Able to read medical records and summarize them correctly
  • Careful with numbers
  • A computer and a reliable connection

Good to have

  • Experience with demands in more than one US state
  • Paralegal, nursing or claims background

Schedule and time zone
