Legal Assistant

About the role
You keep an attorney's files and calendar in order: documents drafted from templates, deadlines tracked, clients kept informed, nothing left waiting.
What you will do
- Prepare letters, forms and routine documents from the firm's templates
- Keep the calendar: deadlines, appointments, reminders
- Open and organize files, and save every document where it belongs
- Call and email clients for missing information and to give updates the attorney approves
- Request records and follow up until they arrive
- Proofread before anything leaves the firm
What we ask for
- Two or more years as a legal assistant, legal secretary or in a similar office role
- Excellent written English and careful proofreading
- Organized, and comfortable with several deadlines at once
- Good judgment about what is confidential
- A computer and a reliable connection
Good to have
- Experience with a US law firm
- Familiarity with case management software
- Spanish
Schedule and time zone
Remote. You work the business hours of the US law firm you are placed with, so expect a US time zone (Eastern, Central, Mountain or Pacific). The exact shift is agreed with the firm before you start.

This is a contract role. You work as an independent contractor through Inquire2Esquire, on the firm’s hours.
