Lien Negotiator

Remote. Pay: Discussed at interview.

About the role

When a case settles, you find every lien and balance against it, confirm what is really owed, and negotiate reductions so the client keeps more of the settlement.

What you will do

  • Identify liens and balances: health insurers, government programs, hospitals and providers
  • Request final amounts and check them against the records
  • Negotiate reductions by phone and in writing
  • Get every agreement in writing
  • Keep a clear ledger for each case
  • Give the attorney final figures for the settlement statement

What we ask for

  • Two or more years resolving liens or negotiating medical balances
  • Confident, persistent and courteous on the phone
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Careful with numbers and with documentation
  • A quiet place to work, a computer, a headset and a reliable connection

Good to have

  • Experience with government health program liens
  • Personal injury law firm experience
  • Spanish

Schedule and time zone

Remote. You work the business hours of the US law firm you are placed with, so expect a US time zone (Eastern, Central, Mountain or Pacific). The exact shift is agreed with the firm before you start.

Contract

This is a contract role. You work as an independent contractor through Inquire2Esquire, on the firm’s hours.
