About the role

You get the medical records and bills a personal injury case depends on: request them, chase them, check them, and put them in order.

What you will do

  • Send record and billing requests with the right authorization to each provider
  • Follow up by phone, fax and portal until everything arrives
  • Check what arrives against the dates of treatment and ask again for what is missing
  • Name and file records so they are easy to find
  • Keep a running list of providers, charges and balances for each client
  • Flag unusual charges or missing treatment to the case manager

What we ask for

  • One or more years requesting or handling medical records or bills
  • Able to read medical bills and recognize common record types
  • Persistent and polite on the phone
  • Careful with private health information
  • A computer, a headset and a reliable connection

Good to have

  • Personal injury law firm experience
  • Familiarity with US privacy rules for health information
  • Spanish

Schedule and time zone

Remote. You work the business hours of the US law firm you are placed with, so expect a US time zone (Eastern, Central, Mountain or Pacific). The exact shift is agreed with the firm before you start.
