Paralegal

About the role
You do substantive legal work under an attorney's supervision: drafting, organizing evidence, and keeping a litigation or pre-litigation file on schedule.
What you will do
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and correspondence for attorney review
- Organize documents, records and exhibits
- Track court and statutory deadlines on the calendar
- Prepare filings in the way each court requires
- Summarize records, depositions and other long documents
- Talk with clients, opposing offices and courts on routine matters
What we ask for
- Three or more years as a paralegal, or a law degree with practical experience
- Excellent written English
- Able to read a rule or an order and follow it exactly
- Careful with deadlines and with confidential material
- A computer and a reliable connection
Good to have
- Experience supporting US attorneys
- Experience with electronic court filing
- A paralegal certificate or law degree
Schedule and time zone
Remote. You work the business hours of the US law firm you are placed with, so expect a US time zone (Eastern, Central, Mountain or Pacific). The exact shift is agreed with the firm before you start.

This is a contract role. You work as an independent contractor through Inquire2Esquire, on the firm’s hours.
